Quang Tri Hospital Grand Opening Celebration Held on April 13

EMW celebrated the grand opening of the new $1.2 million hospital in the poor central province of Quang Tri on Friday. The new facility, funded by Atlantic Philanthropies and supervised by East Meets West, is part of the Quang Tri General Hospital. It will provide medical services to residents from Quang Tri and Quang Binh provinces and their surrounding communities.

"This new hospital is a big step in boosting Quang Tri General Hospital’s capacity," said Mark Conroy, EMW’s Country Director.

Constructed under EMW supervision, the hospital replaces an aging two-story building and houses departments such as Internal Consolidated, Psychology, Cardiovascular, Ear-Nose-Throat, Oral and Maxillofacial, and Ophthalmology.

EMW and Atlantic Philanthropies have been funding and carrying out projects in Quang Tri since 2000. In 2003, EMW renovated several departments in the Quang Tri General Hospital.
