East Meets West's Compassion Home program provides children
and their families a dry and safe dwelling where they can live
safely and with dignity. A new home protects a family from floods
and typhoons, provides a place for children to sleep and study
and can form the foundation for a new family business, such
as a barbershop, cafe or grocery shop.
To build a concrete block home with a tile roof, concrete floor,
clean water well and latrine costs as little as $1,800, an expense beyond the reach for most Vietnamese families.
