East Meets West Awarded RMHC Grant

EMW received a $399,500 grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), which today announced the disbursement of over $3 million to programs that address pressing children’s health issues around the world. The EMW grant ensures quality dental services and oral health education for more than 200,000 children in Vietnam through a train-the-trainer network of health workers. EMW Education Program Wins GPOBA Award, Assists Over 8,000 Students
EMW's Upper Secondary Education Enhancement Program was one of ten organizations to receive an award from the Global Partnership on Output-Based Aid. EMW was recognized for pioneering the first OBA program in education.

Vietnam Tooth Project Partners with EMA to Improve Oral Health
The Vietnam Tooth Project has partnered with EMW every year since 2011, sending student volunteers from the US to our Da Nang Clinic and on outreach trips, and donating oral health supplies, most recently in December 2013.

OHH Training 2013 Local Doctors Trained to Detect Heart Defects
In May, EMW's Operation Healthy Heart program provided a week of Continuing Education to 12 doctors from Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam. The training enables the doctors to screen for heart defects in children in their communities. Read more here.

Prudential BOL Mar 2013 Ceremony UK-based Prudential Group Commits $49,000 to Improve Neonatal Care in Mekong Delta

The Alliance for Global Good (AFGG) awarded funds to the EMW Dental Program to support its transition to offering paid services at its Da Nang clinic. Launched in Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam, Operation Healthy Heart Plus is establishing a network of doctors to detect, treat, and manage cardiac cases, and campaigning to raise awareness about pediatric heart disease. Telecom company VNPT is a key program partner, providing a call center and technical support.
