Village of Hope Disadvantaged Children's Center

For over 15 years, East Meets West has operated the Village of Hope in Da Nang. Built in 1993, construction of the center was funded with a grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Village of Hope is a haven for extremely disadvantaged children, housing 150 orphaned, abandoned and hearing-impaired children. A wide range of activities are made available to all of the children, including: athletics, music, dance, art, theater training, and English as a second language instruction.

More than 200 children have graduated from the Village of Hope. Some return to their original homes while others continue on to higher education, advanced vocational training, or enter the workplace with marketable skills. The children grow into young adults with skills to help themselves and their families seek a better quality of life.

Supporting the Village of Hope
Where A Donation Goes

Donations support the whole center, rather than supporting individual children. This allows EMW to provide services that are needed for the entire community and address special needs of each individual child. Children with disabilities, for example, require special care demanding a proportionally larger share of the money that is raised.

$50 a month provides shelter, education and job training to an orphaned or deaf child at EMW's Village of Hope. Make a donation today.
